Is This My Skin Healing After An Allergic Reaction To Soap?

396545383 I used a bar of soap I'm allergic to around 6 days ago, it puffed up my face and made it burn like hell. It also dried the hell outta my entire skin and made it itchy. It just didn't feel right. I stopped using it immediately and all this went away. I didn't get hives at all though (thank god). The first few days felt like a sunburn. Right now my skin looks shiny. Not a greasy shiny, just shiny. It also feels kinda tight and slightly swollen in some places, like on my legs, arms, and face but nothing serious though. Otherwise, I feel just fine and i'm not in pain. No redness at all. Idk if this is just my skin healing itself. Tried taking a shower 2 days ago with a body wash Im not allergic to, and it felt like it was just way too harsh for my skin right now.
How long does it typically take for your skin to heal?

  1. JUST ME - it can take a week to 10 days
    I use Aveano body lotion
the oatmeal helps hold in the moisture
and protects the skin, letting it heal faster
you can also try a luke warm oatmeal bath
hot water dries the skin out too much
I found oatmeal bath at several places
    Family Dollar,Dollar Tree & Rite Aid,they
all work the same, just cost different
I had extreme dry skin as a child,my
dermatologist had me take oatmeal baths
    3 times a week..they helped alot
After a severe allergic reaction my skin gets like yours
so I use Aveano bath wash in the shower & take
oatmeal baths, then "air dry" (wrap up in a towel until dry)
then apply Aveano body lotion. My skin heals quicker
    and isn't as tight

    good luck
