I have palpations everday I'm a sixteen year old female , I'm over weight. I monitor my blood pressure everyday , and it's always good , my pulse stays good too. I have very bad health anxiety , and I went to the ER like three or four months ago for chest pain , they did a EKG everything was normal and they said it was anxiety. I have chest pain a few times since then , I have pain in both of my jaws , not with the Chest pain , my left shoulder stays sore. Is this anxiety or heart attack? My grandmaw has heart diease.. I'm only sixteen and this is all I think about. The pain is in my throat also
Jeffrey - at your age, probably just anxiety. but as always, never take medical advice from anyone on the internet. talk to your primary
ReplyDeletejo-by-the-sea - You have been checked over, and nothing has shown up in terms of heart problems. It is much more likely to be anxiety and if you can start believing this, your anxiety levels should decrease and you will start to notice a reduction in your symptoms. If your blood pressure is OK, why do you monitor it every day? It's probably making you more worried. The fact that your grandmother has heart disease is irrelevant unless she developed it as a young woman. I know it's hard to break the cycle of anxiety and these symptoms, so see if you can find someone knowledgeable to talk to and give you support. Why don't you also have a go at losing weight? This will reduce the risk of developing any heart problems in the future and also might help you achieve some goals and fell better about your body and whole self. I don't know if you are still at school, but anyway, try and get involved with whatever you are doing as this will help take your mind off worrying about your health. Apart from being overweight it doesn't sound like there's anything wrong with you. Good luck!
