Weight Loss Help?????????

396545382 I could eat an egg and be full for a whole day, My whole life I've only eaten one meal a day, then I started comfort eating/out of boredom I DO NOT need 3 meals a day overwise I just gain more weight, :/ do I go back to one meal a day?

  1. Chunky Lard - No. If you eat only one meal a day you will gain weight long-term!

    You need 3 healthy meals daily, plus 3 snacks, along with plenty of water.

    Eating one egg a day will make you really fat in the long run as your metabolism will crash.

  2. Dan - Eating one meal a day will cause metabolic confusion in you body. Your metabolism slows drastically because your body thinks that it is starving. Naturally, your body will do whatever it takes to stay alive, so it releases a chemical called cortisol, and your metabolism slows down enough to conserve any food intake.

    Basically, your body thinks its starving, so it holds on to any food you eat as long as it can so you dont die.

    The best way to lose weight is to manage your caloric intake and spread 5-6 meals a day. Sound hard, but think of it this way: if a typical dinner for you is a small salad with spaghetti & meatballs, and a dessert.... why not eat the salad as meal 1, half the spaghetti as meal 2, the other half as meal 3, and substitute the dessert for a protein shake or a fruit smoothie? Add a bowl of cereal for breakfast and a chicken sandwich for lunch, and you just had 6 meals. And, your body wont think its starving, so it will work hard to burn off those excess calories.

    A diet is not complicated, just watch what you eat and be a little active. The pounds should come off on their own

  3. lupsa - It sounds like me:). I was doing the same thing, thinking if I don't eat, I will lose weight. Let me tell you, is not true. Even if you might lose weight after 2-3 days, the weight will come back, double as you lost it. You need to have a healthy diet, exercise, motivate yourself.
    I know what I am saying, I was 96 kg, I am 24 years old and have a baby. My motivation was not my baby, but the blood test results, when doctors told me my cholesterol levels are too high, my blood pressure is too high, I could have a heart attack, and so on. I was just thinking, why the hell am I destroying myself, because it is only your fault when you are overweight. You always try to blame others, blame the food, blame the weather, blame your mum for giving you too much to eat when you were a kid, blame your workplace because you have to sit all day. But it is only your fault, for eating fish & chips 3-4 times a week, because it's easier after a hard day at work, rather than go home and stay for 1 more hour to cook.
    This may sound harsh, but siting in front of the TV and eating an egg a day, it will never help you, it will harm your body worse than you can imagine. I got my wake-up call and I want you to get it as well.
    My only help was not my kid, or my partner, or my parents, grandparents, my only help was me!
    I was so determined to lose weight, I started searching online for ways to lose weight without spending any money. I finally came across one website, which is American by the way. I am not trying to advertise it, I am in UK and I don't win any money for referring you there, I want you to go the same healthy path to lose weight as I did, without spending nothing on memberships and so on.

    If you lack of motivation, they have it, if you don't know what to eat, they have it, if you don't know how to exercise they will give you fitness planner. It is a huge community out there, every single one of them are trying to lose weight. You will see success stories, you will see struggling people, you will see unfortunate people, but I can guarantee you will learn everything you need to know to help you in your weight loss journey.
