I am a young teen and do not have bad acne at all. I have the occasional pimple or two, but on Monday morning I awoke to about 8 pimples on or around my forehead! Some are bigger than others, but they are all equally unattractive! Tuesday they got worse and today was just flat out horrible! I cover them with makeup pretty well, but you can still see them! Today I bought Clearsil acne cleanser and cleaned my face. I put a hot compress on the pimples and then but a generous
helping of Oxy on them! I'm going to wash my face again, as well as do a hot compress and the Oxy treatment. I want to go to school tomorrow with less noticeable pimples! I didn't look one person in the face today and my confidence went completely down the drain...please
help! I'm desperate!
es - hi!
ReplyDeletehave you tried changing your pillowcase or bed sheets? bacteria can build up on your face over time, then build up on your pillow/sheets, then go back on your face :o if you don't have enough time to wash your sheets, then just put a clean towel over your pillow to reduce the bacteria.
as for washing your face, make sure that your face wash either has salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide in it. these two ingredients are used to diminish the bacteria that causes acne. wash your face once in the morning and once at night right before you go to sleep.
before washing, wash your hands so you don't get germs from your hands to your face. then splash your face with warm water a few times to open your pores. wash with your cleanser and be very gentle so you don't irritate and tug on your skin.now, rinse with cool-cold water to close your pores and prevent new bacteria from getting back in to your skin.
after you wash your face, make sure to moisturize it! even if your skin is oily, you need to moisturize and i can't stress that enough!!!! if your skin gets too dry (because face wash can strip your skin of its natural oils), then it actually works harder to make more oil which can clog your pores and cause more acne! :[
try not to put too many drying products (like the generous helping of Oxy) because they can make your skin flaky and dry and irritated which doesn't look so hot.
don't pop your pimples no matter how tempting it seems because then bacteria can be pushed further into your skin and make it look worse and also scar your skin. would your rather have some pimples for a few days- a week or red scars for the rest of your life?
as for makeup, try not to use it for your pimples because then it can infect them and cause more pimples. don't forget, it's what is on the inside that matters and you are beautiful regardless of if you have pimples or not!! :D
Sako - First off sweetheart, calm down. Pimples aren't going to be the "END OF THE WORLD".
ReplyDeleteMake sure that you clean your face daily and certain coverups can, in fact, make your acne worse. Try to avoid liquid coverups (but if you do use them, make sure you wash your face well when you take it off) Try not to mix acne treatments. (like using too many different ones at once)
As to resolving your current problem, I'd say pop and drain the ones you have right now. Wait a little while and try to drain it a bit more.
Just calm down.
CadetCactus - A great home herbal remedy for acne is to add 3tbsp of dried basil leaves in 1 cup of boiling water. Let steep for about 15 minutes and apply to the area with a cotton ball.
ReplyDeleteAlso some tips for avoiding breakouts is to NEVER skip breakfast, and regularly get a great nights sleep it really helps keep your skin clear.
<3<3Roxy <3<3 - Wash you face with lemon everyday, it will kill bacteria then apply honey to smooth out the bumps and calm the skin. If you do this everyday you wouldn't have to worry about pimples any more
ReplyDeleteH - When your a teen you get acne whether it's the occasional pimple or lots of them. You have to know that your gonna get them. But what your doing is great and I think most of them will be gone. If they dont go away then in the morning if they are rather large or red try putting a dime size of toothpaste (yes toothpaste) on each pimple and that will make it less red and smaller. Once you've had the toothpaste on it for say 10 minutes to 15 minutes take it off it will be red at first but after about 1 minute you'll see it will be better. Only do this every once and awhile though because it will make your skin dry if you put too much on or do it all the time. Hope I helped!!
