  1. Necronometer - Well, first of all, remember that you're supposed to lose strands of hair throughout the day. It's only really classified as "hair loss" if you can gently tug on your hair and 10% of the strands come out. So in other words, grab 50 strands of hair. If you gently tug and 5+ hairs come out, then you might have a hair loss problem.

If this is the case, you really should see a doctor because it is very likely that you may have an autoimmune disorder called "alopecia." There are two different types of alopecia: alopecia areata and alopecia universalis. The areata kind of alopecia affects spots of your scalp/any other hair on your body and universalis affects your entire body.

Hair loss may also be the sign of another underlying condition. So your best bet would definitely be to see a medical professional if you are truly worried. The hair loss itself may be a chronic condition, and if that's the case, you wouldn't be able to get *rid* of it, but you can manage it using a steroid cream that can be prescribed by your doctor.

    Good luck! :)

Preventing hair loss is entirely in your hands.Rubbing your left and right hand nails with each other is a powerful hair loss solution

  4. Sheila Morrow - Hi there,
It is normal to shed about 80 to100 strands of hair a day. anything above this number is considered hair loss. You are not going to bald, it is rare for women and especially to young girl like you.

Eat more protein, like meat or fish. Take your vitamins and minerals regularly and you'll be fine.

  5. Bosley - Hi,

As another poster mentioned, we all lose a bit of hair every day as apart of regular shedding, in order to make room for new follicles. It's usually between 10-100 individual hairs on a daily basis. However, if you are noticing large chunks of hair come out at once or a very noticeable, thin hairline, then you really should see your doctor if you can. It could be caused by any number of things like hormone changes, poor diet, stress, etc. So it's important to see someone to check things out.
