Can You Become Lactose Intolerant?

396545383 I never had any problems when I was younger with dairy but, recently, I have started getting horrible stomach/intestinal pains, gas, and dirreha whenever I have something even related to dairy.
I'm 17 years old, nearly 18. Is there a chance I may be lactose intolerant or could this be something else. I can drink some milk without a problem but if I have something like mashed potatos, mac and cheese, my digestive tract becomes angry.
I had some intestinal/stomach issues a couple summers ago to where I lost 40lbs. Could this be a result of those issues from the past? Should I see a doctor?
Thank you.

  1. -_- - Absolutely! The older I get, the more lactose intolerant I become.
