if i eat anything for breakfast it would be like a banana or breakfast hot pocket.
for lunch have either a frozen burrito or sandwich on white bread. what type of wheat bread is the healthy one?
i cook dinner every night but i dont think its that healthy. i have all the food groups every night but i make for example..
oven baked bbq chicken, broccoli with butter and salt and mashed potatoes,
pastas,
pork chops covered in frosted flakes and fried in butter or oil with green beans and white rice,
pot roast which is mushrooms carrots potatoes and onions.
tacos.
steak baked potato and corn etc... i put butter and salt on all of my veggies i need to start eating healthy because im only 22! thanks!
Emma - Try eating more fish thats really good for you,try not to fry food, grilling its better...mushrooms carrots potatoes are all fine as long as your not smothering them in fat and salt. Rice is also good..if you eat 5 small meals a day every couple of hours you wont feel as hungry
ReplyDeleteLauren - It's going to be really hard to find those kind of meal plans. Trust me, I've looked. I'm 26, and can tell you that as you get on up there in the 20's you'll realize just how much harder it is to lose weight if you're out of shape.
ReplyDeleteEating any frozen entree's isn't that great for you. There's preservatives and a ton of sodium in all of it. Even a lot of the veggies.
Veggies are excellent to snack on, but they should be raw, and fresh. Organic is the best, but it gets expensive.
Try to keep your carbs for breakfast time. When you have them, make sure they're whole grain. Like a bowl of oatmeal. (without a ton of sugar or butter) Sometimes I have a whole grain bagel with whipped cream cheese, a boiled egg, and some fresh cut fruit for my breakfast. Before breakfast I usually have a cup of coffee with splenda.
For a mid-morning snack, pick like some boiled egg whites. It can be filling, but packed with protein.
For Lunch, one of my favorites is a bed of spinach with a grilled tuna steak on top with some red wine vinegar and olive oil. Or a Greek Salad. (another one of my favorites)
Snack- celery or carrot sticks
Dinner- grilled fish or chicken with either spinach or some other type of greens and a few slices of tomatoes.
If you want something sweet later, you can have a cup of fat free frozen yogurt
Get rid of the salt.. if you just do that, you'll drop some weight. I used to have a huge problem with salt. It sucked when I gave it up, but after a while you don't miss it anymore. If you can't stop using butter, try the "I can't believe it's not butter" spray.. I don't think it has ANY nutritional value at all, but at least you're not eating all that saturated fat that butter has.
If you need some sort of potato, switch to sweet potatoes. They have more fiber and aren't really starchy.
Get rid of the white bread as well.. Whole grain, whole grain, whole grain.
Red meat is ok in moderation, but very fattening. Eat more lean meats, like lean chicken, fish, and turkey..
I have found that back-strap deer meat is the leanest red meat you can find. It sounds gross, but if can't give up red meat, it's a better option.
