I'm 20 years old tall and thin. No family history of heart problems and I'm a nonsmoker. I have 1 cup of coffee every morning. I eat healthy and exercise regularly by running 2.5 miles about 3 times a week. My heart never seems stressed when exercising and I never have chest pain. I've noticed recently (the past 3 weeks) that when I'm resting, my heart will give a sudden and random pound, like the lurching into your throat pound. I can feel it, but it's not painful at all, I wouldn't even say it's uncomfortable. Sometimes I will have several in an hours time. And sometimes I will go all day without it happening. Should I see a doctor? I'm slightly concerned that running may not be the best for PVCs, but I'm not sure. Also I'm not completely sure if it is PVCs... Any insight would be greatly appreciated! It may sound dumb, but this is new to me and somewhat scary!
taboy74 - Go check a doctor ASAP. Heart problem is not something to take lightly. Prevention is better than cure, right?
ReplyDeleteKatie - Welcome to the club. It's so scary I know because I get them too. Go get everything checked out by a cardiologist but I can tell you know in a structurally healthy heart without any heart disease most palpitations are benign. but it's important to get all the testing done by ur doctor to rule out anything unusual. If you need support you can look up the forum skippinghearts.com.
ReplyDeletenurse52 - Palpitations, Which are normal made worse by anxiety over the palpitations. Yes lots of people have them.
ReplyDeleteTry coughing or bearing down like you are going to poop. See if that helps.
See a doctor for an accurate diagnosis.
Take care
