I have been trying to lose weight but somehow I justify eating unhealthy with going to the gym later and burning it off. I can't keep doing that because all the work at the gym has not helped me to lose any weight and Im still the same at 140.. I am 5'3" and I really want a flat stomach. So any advice please?
Tabby - When you go to the gym do stuff like running and stretches. I heard somewhere that if you do sit-ups and crunches, it builds muscle under the fat so just so you know...
ReplyDeletebsund - There is so much advice on this(different diets, workouts etc.) but the main thing to consider is that eating is 70% of the battle. To lose 1 pound of fat you need to create a 3000 calorie deficit in your diet. Combine a healthy lower in fat diet with cardio and core workouts and you will be fine.
ReplyDeleteEyezOnMe123 - If you dont like working out then just try eating good i know people with six packs just because they eat good. Make sure to eat a lot of protein and dont go crazy on carbs and sugar
ReplyDeleteRebecca - Keep going to the gym, but its more important to eat healthily. You probably have a nice toned stomach really, you just need to get rid of any excess fat to show it:)
ReplyDeleteNutritionist - what you need is a nutrition counsellor who can counsel you, plan a perfect ddiet for you as per your lifestle and taste buds and also motivates you whenever you go wrong.
ReplyDeleteAs of now, stop eating unhealthy stuff. when you feel like eating soemthing wrong, drink a glass of water or eat a fruit and then ask yourself , do you still want to eat the wrong stuff.
usuually the craving goes away. if it doesnt even after eating a fruit and water, then its ur body who is really needs it, so eat a very tiny bit to satisfy your body
sometimes body is full but our tastebuds need you to eat somthing wrong. you should stop this.
try eating your favourite food once a week like sunday. so for example you get a chocolate on ur hand, keep it aside to relish it guiltfree on a sunday. this way you can get control over your habits.

Franklin - either way its best to eat well because even if weight wise your seeing gains all that bad food is still bad for health as far as lipids and even gastro problems.
ReplyDeleteNeveRmoRe - Here are the main targets and goals to losing weight
ReplyDelete- Eat right: NO JUNK FOOD OR SODA WHATSOEVER. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT AND HARDEST!
- Exercise: You need to exercise at least 1 hour a day to burn off the calories you ate to see results
- Weigh yourself: Don't weigh yourself randomly. Weigh yourself at a specific day and time every week. For example: You could weigh yourself at Friday at 8:00am BUT KEEP IT THE SAME EACH WEEK or your weight will mess up and it won't be correct
- Drink - Yes, drink fluids! Drink healthy fluids. Don't have too much Gatorade. Gatorade is around 80 calories in each bottle and it just adds up unnecessary calories when you could be having 0 calories of water instead
- Rest: Sleep for at least 8 hours a day so you are well rested.
- Don't obsess: Don't obsess! Don't go too crazy about this. Eat around 1,200 calories a day NO MATTER WHAT. If you don't your body will go into a thing called "starvation mode" and it will mess up your metabolism.
Some good exercises:
Jump rope, swimming, elliptical, walking the dog, stair climbing, pilates, crunches, push-ups, etc...
Food:
STAY AWAY FROM JUNK FOOD AND SODA (as stated above). Replace cravings of junk food with vegetables and/or fruits. Fruits and veggies have little calories but can fill you up for a few hours!
