Jordan - If you truly have a wart on your finger, these are likely unrelated issues. Warts are caused by the human papilloma virus or HPV. This is the same virus that causes cervical cancer and anal/genital warts but different subtypes of HPV only cause cervical cancer and/or genital warts. Warts are spread by touching so be careful what you touch. Some therapies include topical salicylic acid and freezing it off (cryo), both of which are available over the counter. The HPV vaccine is recommended for women (and now men) under the age of 27, especially those who are not previously sexually active. You should contact your doctor if you fit the bill and want it. Hope this helps! -Dr. J
