Is This Good For Losing Weight And Fat?

396545382 I'm not really fat, I'm just a bit chubby and I want to lose a bit of weight. So I am going to join a gym and do steady exercises on a treadmill for like 30 mins, 3 or 4 times a week, increasing as i gradually improve my fitness. Then do 3 sets of like 20 reps of press ups and 50 reps of crunches every day. Then go on a diet with only three meals a day, no chocolates and lots of protein.

Will this be effective in helping me to lose weight, get stronger, and get fitter?? Is there anything else I can do that is practical and easy to do that will help??

Thank you

  1. Olivia - That would be good (:

I am joining the gym here soon too, but I spend 20-30 minutes on the bike, then run half a mile. I also am on the treadmill for a hour a day. Haha.

  2. helloalone - sounds about right to me!

just don't push yourself too hard, also with your diet - you may find it extremely hard to just give up all junk food straight away. start off slower and you'll find you'll be successful.

also, don't cut yourself fully off junk food, you can treat yourself every now and again, dark chocolate fulfils your temptation as well as gives you plenty of antioxidants!

  3. bill - It would be more effective if you ate 6 small healthy meals per day. Crunches alone are not going to do too much for you abs. It is more about the cardio and working the core in correlation with the abs. By press ups I am guessing you mean bench press. For that limit yourself to 8-12 reps per set.
Also work other muscles such as biceps tricepts and legs. If you don't you many have imbalance since all the muscles have not been worked.

  4. You Found Me - You need to do more full-body exercises. You will burn more calories and gain more muscle than just doing "target workouts", which dont' even work.

  5. Cody Coontz - You should check out Truth About Abs. In my opinion its better than p90x and doesn't stand more on exercise like p90x does and focuses more on diet since diet is 70% of weight loss. Go to http://boyels.com for more information on it and watch their video to see if it could be of use to you. I can't say I lost xxx pounds but it did help me trim the 25 pounds on my stomach revealing my abs. Also just because it says Truth About Abs does not mean it only works on stomach. They tell you it’s impossible to lose weight in just one area and spot reduction which is exactly that, is a myth and you must lose weight all over your body to lose weight off your stomach. They don't offer magic pills or some new science research. What they offer is information that has been around for centuries. It's also not a (lose all your weight in one week (unless you only need to lose 5 pounds or so. All they offer is a guaranteed way to lose weight and to lose it fast if you have the determination to follow through their diet and exercise routine. I wish you the very best way in your journey to lose weight and hope that you stick with it. Just remember while others are sleeping, we are running.
