So I was at the hospital with chest pain,when seen by the doctor he pressed my chest down on the third was quick hard near centre freaked me out as heard can mess up ur heart.

John W - The heart is not so easy to hurt. It's really very well protected. There are a number of tests they may do where they would push down on you. The heart doesn't actually feel a lot, it's not like you whip it out to touch stuff so it simply doesn't have sensory nerves. Most of the pain that you feel as being from the heart would be from your skeletal muscles and your stomach. He could be checking to see if it's your skeletal muscles that hurt. If he has you on an incline and has been looking at your neck then he's looking at your JVP and would press down on your abdomen, that gives him an idea of how well your heart is doing.
