Baracus - If you work out everyday sure. Dont drink too much tho, also drink lots of water so you can digest it. Drink lots of water no matter what you do anyway
Justin - Whey protein is used to be a supplement. You have to keep the same amount of protein in your diet day to day to keep your gains going up. Without that 2 scoops of protein on day, that's 50 grams of missed protein that you would have to eat somehow... and It is very hard to replace just a shake. that's 8 ounces of turkey to eat to equal that shake.
I take mine everyday because I really don't want to eat more than I have to to get the same amount of calories. Plus its easier to prepare and cheaper than chicken if you think about it.
Ian - Hey Mary let me give you the answer I give everyone regarding whey. Whey is an amazing protein source for after workouts to instantly start rebuilding muscle mass. It is the most simple form of protein your body can receive and is extremely easy to digest. However whey should not be used as a meal replacement. Because it digest so very quickly, your body burns if at rather quickly and does not keep you satisfied, or burning for very long. Whey should only be used as a before of after workout protein to help prepare, or repair muscles. You would be better off drinking skim milk, or casein protein if you are looking for a liquid protein to keep you burning. I hope that helped. If you want to ask any questions message me anytime. EddySays - Nobody needs a protein shake. We get all the protein we need from a complete diet of fresh whole foods from all food groups. There is a small window of time immediately after intense weightlifting, not cardiovascular exercise, where the severely damaged lean muscle tissue can use (not demand) extra protein. Marketers have taken advantage of this information and convinced consumers they NEED protein meal replacements to increase muscle size. And they are making a boat load of money selling the concept. Along the same lines the body uses more calories to digest protein than fats or carbohydrates. The total however is insignificant. 30 additional calories from a 100 grams of protein per day diet. Marketers have seized this information and convinced consumers that protein supplements cause weight loss. Again making a ton of money, Try a lean meat or tuna sandwich on whole wheat an hour before exercise. Again after. Any combination of lean protein and a complex carbohydrate to extend the absorption time. This gives the body a consistent supply of protein. Muscle repair, rest, and new tissue growth occur 24/7, not only right after exercise.
