I was diagnosed with rosacea last year after i turned 33. The doctor prescribed me metrogel but it does not
help my face. my mom had some desomimetsone .25% cream and she gave it to me and i have been putting that on my face. It
helps my face but i have to apply it every night to notice any improvement and my face is still red but not like it would be if i didn't use it. i looked up this ointment and saw that it is a steroid and it shouldn't be used for rosacea. Has anybody else used this cream for rosacea?
curator - Yes and had bad results too. It is an antiinflammatory agent, but while it temporarily suppresses the inflammation and redness, it actually aggravates the process. As long as you use it you get partial benefit. Every time you try to stop it will flare. You need to get off it or risk damaging the skin on the face. There are more aggressive treatments available if the metrogel won't get you through any flare.
