ReplyDeleteYou have asked the 64 million dollar question! Whilst the organism causing leprosy - Mycobacterium leprae - was discovered in 1873, scientists still do not know how it is spread/transmitted. Many hold the belief that it is caused by droplet infection from the respirations of infected people. This is not upheld when over half of the cases discovered have no known contact with an infected person. So, I regret that your question can not be answered.
