I Really Need Help And Advice On Finding A Good Doctor?

396545116 I'm 19 and have not seen a doctor since I just turned 18 and was still seeing a pediatrician. I live a half an hour away from a big city... but at the hospital that I live by in my city literally only 4 doctors (general care doctors) are accepting new patients. I don't like that hospital at all they don't provide good care. My next choice would be to go to the big city I live close to and the problem is just the opposite- too man are accepting new patients and I don't know which one to choose!

I'm going in because one day about 2 months ago I had a horribly tight squeezing pain on my temples that lasted about 5 seconds and went away out of nowhere. Ever since then I have had headaches and neckaches every single day- pain killers don't help. I've had dizziness, numbness, and tingling sensations all over my body. I'm not sure if I should even be seeing a primary care physician or a specialist first? This is the first time something scary has happened to me since I was a young child and needed to see a dr. so I'm no great at knowing how it all works.

Should I first go to a primary care physician or a specialist? And how do I go about choosing a doctor? Is it just a hit or miss thing? Thanks so much!

  1. Denisedds - Well I’m not sure why you picked the cancer section for this question as these are not symptoms of cancer. You a primary c are doctor and that is the doctor you should go to. If you need a specialist they will tell you. Most people get recommendations from people they know. Or you could just pick someone out of your insurance book.
