When I Speak My Left Jaw Keeps Clicking...why?

396545381 It's intermittent or at least I only notice it every so often. I'd say on average it perhaps happens once a day, so it's becoming fairly annoying. It's not painful in anyway.
Your question got reported? That sucks. It keeps happening to me for no reason what so ever.

  2. Murphy Marie - youre lucky that its not painful. my brother has the same problem, only his now hurts and when he yawns, or moves his jaw in a what would normally be unnatural way, it pops and hurts. its your jaw popping out of place. its harmless unless it really starts getting worse. you should probably go on a liquid diet (broth, jello, pudding, water, juice, etc...) for about a week, and try not to talk as much as possible, unless ofcourse you have to. but this takes will power. that doesnt mean "oh my old buddy wants to call and talk on the phone for three hours??? sure!" it means you tell him, i cant talk. try not to mess with your jaw at all. dont try to move it in odd ways to see what makes it pop and what doesnt, just let it be. it will heal and go back into place

  3. gary s - TMJ syndrome.Your molars are filling your jaw so tightly that it pops the jaw bone loose.Only solution is to pull the molars out(Wisdom Teeth). It will get worse with time.

  4. Super trooper - Depends a bit on your age this one. If you're in your 50/60's and have had a fair amount of dental proceedure in the past, it could be something called TJM (Temporomandibular joint syndrome) See link : http://www.emedicinehealth.com/temporomandibular_joint_tmj_syndrome/page6_em.htm
Have a look and see if the info fits your symtoms.

  5. lookat - It sounds like a form of TMD with respect to the TMJ a form of inflamation at the jaw bone where it connects to the scull. I heard that something like chewing gum constantly could trigger the clicking. Perhaps you could research it better by asking for advice for TMD or TMJ
