What Is Gluten? In What Foods We Can Find Them?

396545383 I do not whether I have a gluten allergy. How should I make out that I am okay with gluten or not?
I do have stomach bloating problems after eating certain kinds of food like potato, lentils, cabbage and beans. so do I have gluten related allergy? Please help

  1. papaja4 - Gluten is a protein composite found in foods processed from wheat and related species, including barley and rye. From what you have described you´re not allergic to a gluten. Potatos, lentils, cabbage and beans is food that flatulence your stomach.
    Food which contains gluten: Bread and bread rolls, muffins, bulgar wheat and everything made out of it, all bran.

  2. Cat - Search celiac disease on Google. Get information regarding this disease that involves gluten intolerance. I've read that celiac disease is becoming more common. I suspect you may not have celiac disease because you would have been diagnosed with the disease when you displayed a pattern of serious symptoms as a child. I don't think there are degrees of celiac disease -- you have it or you don't. However, you may have other food allergies. It is, however, very normal to have some distress after eating beans, lentils and cabbage -- they contain a lot of fiber and cause gas, bloating and intestinal discomfort while they are being digested. Haven't you ever heard, "Beans, beans, the magical fruit, the more you eat the more you toot...."

  3. ★☆W.a.b.b.y✿❀ - You need to speak to your doctor. Your doctor will be able to run tests for Celiac Disease. If these come back negative, then you may have a gluten intolerance. An allergy is very different. An allergy causes trouble breathing, swelling and rashes. An intolerance causes the stomach problems.

    The foods you're having problems with do not contain gluten. I don't think you have a problem with gluten. Remove those food groups you're having problems with. A gluten free diet can be harmful to anyone who doesn't need to be on it.
