ClickMaster - You should get off the p90x scam ride so you don't have to keep dumping money in the pockets of Product Partners, LLC and learn how to really workout. Of course since you didn't mention any goals, I can't help you with that but little homework on your part and you can become your own personal trainer. It's your body and it's for life so you may as well make the investment now instead of getting sucked into one scam after another.
Your homework begins with goals. Exercise is hard work so it makes no sense to exercise without purpose and for purpose you need goals. Goals like excellence in a sport or occupation, strength, explosive power, endurance, flexibility, systemic fitness, speed and agility, improved bone density, physical dexterity, stress reduction, general health and well being, body sculpting, body awareness, coordination, poise and comportment, balance, body composition, peace of mind, mental acuity, increased life expectancy, etc. which you can break down into training specific subgoals. For example, if body sculpting is what you want to do then you may want to tone head to toe and lose 10 pounds of fat.
Then mine the web for good information sources. The internet is full of bad information for the simple reason that anyone can say anything about any product and not worry. Advertisers use fake testimonials, phony science papers, fabricated news interviews, bogus websites and every conceivable technique to get your money. The result is the internet is awash in junk...bad information which spawns myths and misconceptions about all sorts of thing.
When Dr. Oz mention the acai berry on Oprah, that one little reference was misinterpreted and in days supplement makers were gearing up to make acai supplements because the whole world believed that acai berries could make them lose fat which, of course, is not the case. And, today, people are still asking about acai. Hundreds of myths are born every day because of the low cost instant global communication offered by the internet and that means you really have to be careful if you want good information.
Try to avoid dot COM websites and use dot GOV and dot EDU sites. Websites with cool looking graphics and lots of advertising should be avoided and those at the top of the serach results should be suspect. I always check page 2 or 3 or more of the search results looking for a dot GOV or dot EDU site. On the internet, bad information is easy to find. The good information is hard to find.
And don't forget about libraries. They're still pristine places to go for information and not polluted with tons of junk information as is the internet.
Study just the basics of anatomy, kinesiology, nutrition, fitness, physiology, etc. It's not as hard as it sounds. It's an investment you make for life and at the very least you'll be able to know the difference between a scam like p90x and the real thing.
Check the links below. They should get you started.
Good luck and good health!!
