What Causes Bubbly Hives And Welts To Appear And Disappear After An Hour Daily For Past Three Weeks?

396545383 I started getting hives (bubble-like to welt-like) daily for the past three weeks on different parts of my body from my shoulder to my toes. Only thing I could relate it to is overdoing it on sugar-free fudge bars for a week before the hives appeared. So I stopped eating them. But it keeps appearing at any time of day. It can be triggered if I touch warm water or eat hot spicy foods or drink warm liquids. The hives lasts like an hour and goes away especially if I put very cold water on it. Last week, I started taking Allegra each morning recommended by the school nurse practitioner. It helped for 5 days, but I ran out today and I was hoping after 5 days, it would resolve itself and wouldn't show up again. But it did.

It started appearing when I went to the kitchen to wash my hands with warm water. The bubbly hives appeared around the wrist and ring finger where the water fell but it also appeared on my upper arm/bicep and inner thigh and I didn't shower or eat anything yet. I did get on my bf's case this morning, so it could partly be due to stress triggering it too I think.

Have you had any similar experiences with bubbly hives and welts that comes and goes after an hour. What happened and did it eventually go away? Any of your experience and feedback could be helpful. Thank you!

Please no wacky answers so you can get points for answering.

  1. lou - Ok hives are a very tricky and annoying problem. First of all get back on an anti histamine, Allegra, Claritan or Benydryl. Try to go on a bland diet for a few days and drink plenty of fresh water. DO NOT take hot showers for a few days. If you can, find a good allergist and get an allergy test done. Avoid any foods you are allergic to. Think about what you may have changed in your life like laundry detergent, cosmetics, foods ???? Keep in mind sometimes hives just happen and we never find the problem. Rest assure it may last days weeks or months but it will pass. Best of luck, Lou
