My grandmother is being tested for pancreatic cancer so I checked online what the symptoms are and she as all of them. I really hope she doesn't have it but if she does, how many people survive?
Can't Think :l - Unfortunately Pancreatic cancer is one of the deadliest cancers to have. Here are some facts to give you an idea of what to expect:
- In 2010 43,000 people in the US were diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer, almost 37,00 of that number had passed away by 2011. - The one year survival rate of Pancreatic cancer is around 25%. The five year survival rate is estimated at less than 5%. - Over 80% of people die within 6 months of diagnosis.
So unfortunately if your Grandmother does indeed have Pancreatic cancer i wish her the very best of luck, I pray that she doesn't as this is a horrible and deadly disease. Sorry for the grim facts and figures but sadly they are all true.
Denisedds - Less than 20% survive the first year and less than 3% survive 5 years.
ReplyDeleteThe median survival is 2-6 months.
