Hello. My sister's heart is failing and they have waited and its too late no one can/will donate. I'm the only one compatible. My parents like my sister more and so they have been trying to force and guilt me into dying for my sister. They also say I should since I'm two years older and my sister has a longer life to live. Should I Donate My Heart? Please Help?
Hello. My sister's heart is failing and they have waited and its too late no one can/will donate. I'm the only one compatible. My parents like my sister more and so they have been trying to force and guilt me into dying for my sister. They also say I should since I'm two years older and my sister has a longer life to live. I dont know what to do I love her but should I really die for her?

ReplyDeleteJosh - Theres really no good answer. And for your parents to try and guilt you and force you, is quite shocking. Well, you can't just go by what your parents say, its your heart afterall. I seriously can't think of any reason to keep it, other than you get to live, and that you can possibly live to a good age, have a family, y'know? But to donate your heart means that your sibling would live, and that could happen to her, and maybe people would remember you as the brave person you were. But really, theres alot of pros and cons to both sides. All I can say is, if you keep your heart, live life to the fullest, try to make a difference in the world, if you give it to your sister. Well, thats a very brave thing and I'd be proud of you for doing such (even though I don't know you) but, would also be a bit sad that this person has passed away.
ReplyDeleteMark - Legally, your parents can't do that, as that would consitute a murder charge, and a life sentence if they're lucky, but depending on where you live, that could also mean a death sentence, as well. I know you want to help your sister, but it is not worth dying for.

ReplyDeletesince ur health is good why would they let u die n give ur heart to ur sister n ur sister will have some heart problems over again n her body might not get adapted with ur heart n she dies too !!
by the end they willl loose both of u !
Another thing I would like to say , no one knows what will happen in the future , ur sister may live much longer than u with her sick heart .. , i know someone who had heart problems and all the doctors said that she wont stay alive more than 2 months .. its been 8 years now and shes still alive ,
Just live ur life , dont listen to ur parents ,
God knows what should happen , as i told u ..its only by god's hand , u cant do anything about it !
All u have to do .. is just pray for her !
