Pramit - When someone becomes infected, the pox usually appear 10 to 21 days later. People become contagious 1 to 2 days before breaking out with pox. They remain contagious while uncrusted blisters are present. Symptoms such as a fever, headache, tummy ache, or loss of appetite last for a day or two before breaking out in the classic pox rash. These symptoms last 2 to 4 days after breaking out. So usually about one and a half weeks is what it takes for complete healing. It may take a month for the scars to be gone.
DebaCat - The pox go away within a week usually, but the disease stays in your system and can manifest itself in later life as shingles.
