Tabea - If you are convinced you have diabetes, then you should buy yourself a blood glucose meter and start testing your blood sugar. Normal fasting is 80-100 (4-5.5 mm/ol) and 2 hours after eating, you should be under 140 (7.8 mm/ol). If you are above 140 2 hours after eating, that's diagnostic of diabetes. You can go back to the doctor with the readings and tell him/her.
ReplyDeleteckm1956 - The A1C is a measure of blood glucose for the past 90 days. Your level means that the estimated average glucose over the same period is 111. Not in the diabetes range at all.
ReplyDeleteYour symptoms could be explained by anxiety. It can cause every single symptom you listed.
Try the Zoloft for a couple of months to see what happens. I think you'll be surprised.
Good luck.
A. Thorne - Have a fasting test first thing in the morning, if your blood glucose is over 130 then you're probably diabetic.
ReplyDeleteGary B - With an A1C of 5.6, it is NOT diabetes!!!
ReplyDeleteThe A1C test is dead accurate. You can't fool it.
Your A1C reading is completely normal. You are NOT diabetic.
Unless you live in a part of the world where public sanitation is VERY poor, it is not likely that you have a parasite.
TAKE THE ZOLOFT.
Sandy - Let me just say a lot of doctors are not very good listeners and just jump to conclusions or textbook definitions! Have you ever had your Vitamin D levels checked? I have a feeling it's quite low. And also it might have to do with malabsorption like celiac disease. Do you have any digestive problems like bowel stuff too?
ReplyDeleteNow the doctor has to have a blood test that confirms you are diabetic. Did he/she just assume this or is there proof?
good luck! and ask for the vitamin D test cause your symptoms might be resolved with supplements too.
