I don't know, but I have this weird pain in my left leg, about 4 inches under my knee. My mom says that it's because I'm still growing, but still, I read about Terry Fox, and all he had was a bit of pain, and this disease affects adolescents a lot! The pain isn't major, like it doesn't keep me up, it's pretty minor, but it's only on one leg, what could it be?
SethSpeaks - Osgood-Schlatter is the likely reason not cancer. The pain is in the right location and you are the right age. So your mom is almost certainly right.
ReplyDeleteTiny - It is always good to follow up on weird bone pains, next time you are in to see your doctor ask them about this. If you are very active or play sports than the above advice(OS) may very well be your problem. Best Wishes
ReplyDeleteGinnyBRock - hey,
ReplyDeleteI'd definately check out any sorts of weird pains. My osteosarcoma was mis-diagnosed as growing pains and a sports injury for about 6 months before I finally found out I had cancer. You're right, Osteosarcoma does affect more teenagers and I was 16 when i was diagnosed. But only specialists will be able to tell you for sure. Get it checked out and don't freak out in the meantime. Chances are that you'll be fine.
All the best
