Can Allergies Get Worse?

396545383 Since I was a kid I had a mild allergy to Penicillin- just a rash. But last week I was prescribed Penicillin and I took it without realising and I had an anaphylactic shock. So I am I right in saying allergies can get worse? My child has a mild allergy, which is why I ask- although after what happened to me I would never risk it.
I think what I am trying to say is I never thought the symptom would get worse- so from a skin reaction to a full on anaphylactic shock. It was about 10 years ago that I last had the skin reaction because of taking it- what's changed for it to become more serious? Or is it just one of those things!

  2. Samy Joe - The allergy doesn't worsen it is the way the body reacts to the allergy.

  3. david freud - Allergies from childhood can completely disappear by adulthood or sometimes become more severe. New allergies can appear from nowhere. You should definitely talk with your doctor about the recent reaction.
