Has Anyone Had A Good Experience With Neulasta?

396545116 I'll be having my first post-chemo Neulasta injection, tomorrow. I've heard so many horror stories about its side-effects (mainly debilitating bone pain) and that it doesn't make an appreciable difference with regard to blood count. Have any of you NOT had crummy time of it? Thank you for your input, whether pro or con.

  1. Flatpaw - I gave myself this shot every time after chemo and never had an issue or felt bad for it. Don't worry about it at all, it's not a big deal!

  2. Meg - I too had heard of the agonizing bone pain that Neulasta caused and when I was told I needed to have the injection I freaked. What a waste of time that was, I had absolutely no side effects of it at all. I even managed to give myself the injection and that is something that I never ever thought I would be able to do. It was painless, quick and as I said I had no side effects.

As to it's effectiveness, I worked through chemo and never picked up a bug, I don't know if I would have without the Neulasta. Have you any idea how much that one injection costs? I think it's around $1200 and I can guarantee that there is no way the hospital would be giving that injection out free if it didn't make any difference to your blood count.

I certainly did NOT have a crummy time of it. Good luck with your chemo, I hope you do well with it.
