Huge Hard Lump On My Left Breast?

396545116 I had been breastfeeding my ten month baby. I had a ceasarian section so i did'nt have milk supply right away so i had to pump.ever since my left breast did not produce a lot of milk and my baby never liked nursing from my left breast so that's how it started that my baby never nurse from my left breast...and just tonight i felt my left breast and there is huge hard lump. I am so scared maybe this is cancer...again i tried pumping the left breast but close to nothing comes out...i also tried hot compress...and i tried to force my baby to nurse on the breast but i guess it's too late now...it is very painful if he tries to nurse from that side. i am worried sick! i am up all night...i don't want to die! please help me ease a bit of my worries...thank you so much.

  2. G'hound - Mastitis. See doctor for antibiotics asap and discuss alternative means of feeding the baby.

  3. ChemoAngel - It sounds like you have a blocked milk duct...see your doctor, You are not going to die...see your doctor he can put your mind at ease in 5 minutes flat. That is not a sign of Breast Cancer....Breast Cancer does not exhibit pain..it is often silent, and unknowing. If it weren't for my annual mammogram, I would have never in my life considered Breast Cancer. Calm down, yours is easily fixed. This happens to ALOT Of Breast Feeding Mothers. See your doctor.

  4. blue sky - I've never breast fed, nor have I been pregnant, but I looked it up online and here's a website with some good information: http://www.pregnancy-info.net/breast-lumps-while-breastfeeding.html

  5. Jao - just go to the doctor. a conclusive finding cannot be determined just by self-examination alone. you need to let the doctor perform more tests.

  7. Lidia Abbate - Im no professional hun but i know that u rele should get that checked out and I also think u should tell ur clossest family about this in the most casual way (I mean don't panic just say ur goin to the doc. To see what that lump). When u go to the doc. Bring ur mum or sister or hubby or even best friend, so that way if it was bad news it would be easier. Good luck hun plz take my addvise just to be on the safe side

  9. Carly Smith - I agree with some of the other people. I just had a bub and she is 6 months old. I had a lump on my breast and I thought it was cancer as well. My baby couldn't feed off it and it hurt a lot. I went to my doctor and she said I had a blocked milk duct. She also told me that a cancer lump didn't hurt and you wouldn't know that you had it unless you had tests done. Don't worry about it and go to your doctor because he or she will prescribe antibiotics for it.

  10. Meg - It probably is mastitis but you should be getting this checked out by your doctor. If it makes you feel any better I did read somewhere that a baby may start to refuse a breast that has a blocked milk duct because the milk becomes saltier. You need to get some antibiotics to clear this up.
