I Feel Fat, My Family Says I Am Fat?

396545382 i am 11, 95 lbs and 10 lbs overweight im pretty sure, i am 4'9 every one makes fun of me and i feel really bad, should i lose weight, if so how

  1. Melissa Joan - you are not overweight, check a bmi calculator for children and it will tell you, you are at a healthy weight. Dont listen to them.

  2. Just Me - Keep a good diet and get some exercise. You should go for runs,weight lifting or whatever type of activity you find interresting.

  3. wsisters - Did you check the BMI calculator? Try going to the link listed in the sources; it will show you your BMI. And according to the calculator, you're not even at risk of overweight. Don't feel bad about yourself! At this point in your life you should be gaining weight, not losing it. Yeah, really. And don't listen too much to the people who make fun of you. What do they know, anyway?

    It can't hurt to be a little healthier, though. Check what you're eating and make sure you exercise. But DON'T try to lose weight!

  4. barthebear - Start right now by getting some paper and pen ( or better yet a notebook or tablet) Weigh yourself or if you are sure it is 95 write that in next to the date August 25. Then write down everyhing you have eaten so far today and the calorie count of it ( you can google calorie counts).
    Then for lunch and dinner do the same thing. Try to eat healthy with no sodas or chips but just vegetables, fruit, nuts, protein etc.
    Please do not think you will lose weight in 2 weeks. But in 2 months you will weigh noticeably less. Also, try to eat 6 small meals aday or have snacks in between the main meals so your blood sugar stays stable and is not a roller coaster like up and down which will affect your mood. And lastly, be ever cautious about doing what some your age do which is fasting. That is a very slippery slope to eating disorders. You are actually very fine and healthy and I know that you will reach your desired weight as you are growing at this age and soon it will not be a problem. But writing down what you eat is very effective. Good luck

    you'll not be fit and active if you dont reduce your weight.

Harry Potter Fan - its not proper fat its baby fat everyone has that I had that =] then when you grow taller your body gets a more womanly figure and your weight is more evenly spaced out but you are fine if you stick to a healthy well balanced diet (veg fruit sugar(not too much) dairy protein fish, all of that evenly) then you will go up and in and look good ;)

    also I used to worry like you about being overweight but your not - i wasnt either and ignore your family they are being really mean to you especially because you are young, those sorts of things can really damage young peoples self esteem so dont worry and ignore them ;)
