Am I At Risk For Oral Cancer?

396545116 okay i'm 16 turning 17 in about 10 days. i'm a very paranoid person.. keep that in mind

but anyways, i've been chewing for less than a year. since around february. so about 6-7 months, i chewed very lightly at first (tin every two weeks) in the last few months though it'd be a tin a day. not everyday. but i've had at least 30 tins. i wouldn't chew the whole thing myself, my friends had a lot of it, usually a 1/4 to 1/2 the tin. but i'd chew 3-4 dips a day usually, highest was around 7 in one day. but i plan on quitting after my very last dip which i'm about to take. but how high is my risk for cancer? i don't really have any of the symptoms, and i have friends that chew wayyyy more than me (dip size and more often) and they've been doing it 3+ years but are fine. but i'm just worried, so i was wondering what my chances are?
@Gregory, i live in the U.P. every other person does. we're hicks.

  1. Adam Aladdin - At such a young age it will not show up right now, however that doesn't mean you couldn't be carrying the disease ! I urge you to STOP NOW and go to a Doctor immediately for a full body check !
P.S : Cancer isn't the only thing you could get !

  3. Karen - Your chances of developing oral cancer at your age are low. However, continued use of chewing tobacco greatly increase your chances of developing it. Trying to minimize your usage online does not minimize your chances of developing oral cancer. The fact that you are concerned enough to ask people on the internet means that you KNOW that it is bad for you, and that you know that your usage is posing a huge health risk for you. Quit now, and stop worrying! Quitting now will reduce your health risk to slim to none. Continuing will increase your cancer risk. I wish you the best of luck!
