Can You Be Allergic To Bandaids?

396545383 I've cut myself a few days ago, and I've been cleaning it really well, usually twice aday with peroxide.
And today after I took my bandaid off (i've had it on since I woke up and took it off about an hour ago at 11am) and now its really itchy and theres a couple bumps.

  1. lulu77 - I think so, to the adhesive that's used. Just let it breathe for a bit and see if that helps.

  2. Macky Schmit - Well that happens alot to things that stick to you for periods of time.
    That happens to me all the time.
    But if it gets worse, you might be allergic to Latex.

  4. Unca Alby - Some people develop allergies to latex, commonly used in some kinds of bandaids, rubber gloves etc.

    If your bandaids are made from latex, see if you can find some that are latex-free.

    Altho in some cases, it's just a matter of a skin irritation from having something stuck to your skin. Nevertheless, changing the kind of bandaid you use certainly won't hurt.

  6. mrs. gaskarth - yup, you're probably allergic to latex. Just like me, it happens to me when I use band aids also. Try using non latex band aids
