How Do You Know When You've Had A Heart Attack?

396545385 I'm a bit scared. I've been having these really sharp pains in the left side of my chest that run down my left rib cage. I also feel like I need to vomit and I'm a bit light headed... What are the symptoms??

  2. doctoranswers - Symptoms of heart attack: Crushing chest pain centrally located (described like an elephant sitting on the chest or a squeezing pressure), pain 'radiates' to the left arm or left side of jaw, sweating, vopmiting or nausea, and an impending sense of doom.

If the pain disappears after a few minutes of rest it is called as Angina.
The best suggestion for you: If you are over 40, hypertensive or diabetic, then please get an exercise stress test done to assess the state of the heart.
