Julia Chick - Definitley, i love pilates. but i would also encourage cardio added for an even more effective long term weight loss. try the elliptical or jogging.
erinsbloggyness - yup, it's usually best to pair it with something more cardio based such as walking/jogging. but Pilates helps build and tone lean muscle which helps your body burn more fat, plus the Pilates exercises themselves usually aren't easy and burns a good amount of calories itself. doing Pilates plus walking/jogging 3-5 days a week helps burn calories (therefore fat), tones/builds muscle and stretches those muscles out to help with flexibility. good stuff
edit- yea it would figure that the rest of the people give the same answer lol, just means we're right LOL
LM - I hope so an I am doing it too! I am doing the resistance bands and the Pilates circle exercises. I think I hurt my upper arm muscle doing the resistance bands. (strain)
