Chest/heart Pains When Stressed Out?

396545385 Hi, before you read this, know that I am fourteen.. I won't go into detail but I've had a LOT of stress in my life lately, and stress that has really gotten me worried and emotional at times. This is normal, probably for people at my age... But it's been about 2 weeks into all of this and my stress/ nerves/ emotion come in waves, sometimes for no reason at all, and for the last three days when it happened I've been feeling some pains in my heart or in that area. It's usually directly around my heart, sometimes in my chest all around. Sometimes it's sharp and other times its a dull background aching or throbbing that makes my entire chest tight and sometimes feel hollow. This only happens when I'm stressed out or worked up. Should I be concerned, see a doctor or let this pass.. The pain is never too severe the worst thing is that it gets me concerned, which can make it worse. I thought it might be heartburn, so I took medicine but it's not exactly working. When I calm down and am no longer worried/stressed, its gone. Otherwise it stays. Should I be concerned?

  1. bluemoooner - consult your gp a simple ecg test will give an assuring answer it pain less electrodes are placed on your chest and ankles and it takes about two minuets to do the test,it takes longer to place the electrodes and these are sticky backed and easily removed.you will be required to lie down and be still and not speak whilst the test is carried out,it sounds like what is called palpatations, that is heart is beating faster than normal and your stress could be a cause of this please ask your gp for an ecg electro cardio gram.
