Which Arteries Branch Directly From The Aortic Arch?

  1. Scott - I presume you mean in the human aorta.....

    In order.... from the Left ventricle outflow tract...

    Innominate artery (which subsequently becomes the (R) common carotid and the (R) subclavian.
    The (L) common carotid
    The (L) Subclavian
    Then you're past the arch....

    If they want to get REALLY technical the origins of the coronary arteries appear in the ascending aorta just past the aortic valve orifice...but this is not truly 'the arch'.

  2. Dr.Qutub - First, the Innominate (brachiocephalic) IA / BCA.
    Second, the Left Carotid Artery.(LCA)
    Third, Left Subclavian Artery.(LSA).

    NOTE:There are many anomalies of the aortic arch such as the bovine arch, where there are only two branch vessels off the aortic arch.
    Hope It helps you to rememeber above 3 easily now, use BCa,LCa,LSa :O))
