What Would You Say To The Doctor?

396545385 if you had been obliged to wait for a year and a half for an appointment with a cardiologist; then discover that an essential test result had been lost, leaving the cardiologist without complete information to reach a diagnosis ? As a patient I need a lot of patience it seems!!!. My heart beats irregularly, and the original A/E doctor ordered a test called a Holter Monitor to test my heart over 24 hours. I had this done, but the results are lost. The cardiologist therefore knows little or nothing, but he wanted me to make another appointment for 9 months time; I objected to this and I'm having a problem being polite, as I think this sort of thing is beyond common sense. So how can I be diplomatic and have proper medical treatment for a condition that could be life threatening? Any advice appreciated.

  1. Mama Mia - You say," Doctor, I have waited for over a year to see a competent cardiologist. My test results from the Holter moniter were misplaced by your office and I therefore do not have the proper information for a diagnosis to be made about my condition. I am not comfortable waiting another 9 months to see if my problem is serious and needs treatment. I therefore, want to reschedule the Holter Monitor reading and to be examined by you within the month, so I can receive proper diagnosis and medication if required. When is your next appointment ?"
I doubt he will answer, in 9 months. If he does, then you need to be seen by someone else because plainly , though busy, he is not the doctor that he should be.
