I am only 15 but I do have some really bad toothe decay. The worst of it is a hole in my front tooth all the way in the right. My parents think I have fine teeth because no one has seen my teeth in 3 years. I am really scared. I really dont want it to get pulled yet because when I was younger I had to get 6 of my baby teeth pulled and it was very tramatic for me. If it is small enough is there any way that my hole can be filled with anything, and is it expensive? In a few days I am going to show my family my teeth for the first time in 3years and I know they will be worried and immedietly take me to the dentist and I need some calming down. My teeth have been making me really depresed and I do not make any friends because I am always sad? So can they be filled? Thank you.
dvldog_1125 - Gotta go to the dentist and have it treated. Things will only get worse.
ReplyDeleteMy 12 year old just had 4 pulled and it was no big deal. She was nervous, but survived. They put her under, so she was a sleep and had no idea they pulled any teeth. And the whole thing only took 20 minutes.
barkingdog21 - Take care of your teeth and see the dentist. Express to your dentist that you are worried. You do not want to lose even one of your teeth, then you will look like a hillbilly (no offense). Treat your teeth like you would a really nice car. Rust on a car is like decay on teeth. Not reversible (don't quote me on this I have a lack of experience, this is just my thoughts on the matter). The only thing you can do is fill or replace the rust. Go to the body shop and fix your CAR! Don't be lazy. Take care of your body. You will miss your teeth once they are gone. Put the man boots on and see the dentist!
ReplyDeleteJoseph C - At your age & discription- Yes. A yes but it is to say they can be filled but before they can be filled. It comes with a price, that is that the decay needs to be removed. New technology does come with good news for U. It's suppose to be painless to remove the decay. It looks like a laser light. No drilling required. Not all dentist's have this so u need to ask etc...
ReplyDeleteThe worst thing to do in your situation is to hide from the dentist. By doing this u have more decay & damage then if U went at least once a year. Plus u R hardly alone in fear of dentist's. A good percentage of people share the same feelings. Its a necessary evil to see a dentist on a reg. basis. Especially if u have ins. & or your parents can afford one. Most people R out of luck. So what R u waiting for get in there, the sooner the better.
kimwardinfo - Only a dentist can let you know if it can be filled or needs more treatment than that. Best to get it taken care of before it gets worse. For future reference you may also want to consider nutritional support for good oral health. I found a book online a few years ago at curetoothdecay.com and found it to have some great info that I have used myself.
ReplyDeleteTake a look at that book and see if it can help you too. In addition, I have found that staying away from processed sugar, HFCS, foods made with white flour and many processed foods have helped me out a lot.
Xylitol is a natural sugar substitute and has cavity reducing qualities.
Good luck with your teeth.
Joby Tom - don't worry about this. You can ask your problem to a dental expert first.answered by dentist itself. this might help you.
ReplyDeleteJustin Kery - Dental implants are ideal for those people who have lost a tooth or two due to an accident, injury or periodontal disease but generally enjoy good oral health. In this procedure, artificial tooth root is placed into your jaw to hold a replacement tooth rather than relying on adjacent teeth for support.
