Acute Pulpitis Vs. Acute Apical Periodontitis Vs. Acute Apical Abscess?

396545381 Hello,
I would like to know the basis of differentiation between all three cases. I know they are all positive to pain on percussion, but thermal tests? EPT tests? Associations? Radiographic picture? Late and Early stages?

Also, many authors classify each stage into some term of their own as depicted in Clinical Endodontics 2nd ed by Leif Tronstad. p.81.

Which system should I follow?

  1. Yourfriend@p - ACUTE= it means short termed. what happened due to recent causes.

Now, pupitis is pulp injury & inflammation.
Periodontitis is the inflammation and swelling of P.D.L. in tooth socket.
The third one is- the degeneration or breakdown of tooth root.
