  1. Inferno - Cardiac arrest-Heart completely stops beating

Heart attack-Blood is blocked in the arteries making it extremely hard for you to breath.

  2. Dylan Pointon ® - A heart attack (Myocardial infarction) is due to ischemia in the coronary arteries in the heart.

A Stroke (Cerebrovascular accident) is caused by either iscemia, aneurysm, hemorrhage in the Brain that leads to complications Affecting the whole body.

Cardiac arrest is where the heart Quivers such as Ventricular fibrillation. Its usually secondary to any Heart diseases

  3. manasa - Heart attack refers to damage to the muscle of the heart, usually from a lack of blood flow. Most of the time, a blood clot forms in one of the arteries that supplies the heart muscle with blood, blocking the flow of blood. As the heart muscle starves, it begins to die, causing chest pain and other heart attack symptoms.

A stroke is a similar blockage in an artery that supplies blood to the brain. When a clot forms in one of those arteries and stops blood flow, a section of the brain begins to die. Stroke symptoms often don't include any pain or discomfort, and are more likely associated with losing feeling or the ability to move. Much of the time, strokes affect only one side of the body.

Cardiac arrest occurs when the heart abruptly stops functioning due to a sudden heart arrhythmia called ventricular fibrillation, or VF. VF is usually seen in people who have coronary artery disease or other underlying heart conditions. Since the stopped heart cannot provide oxygen to the rest of the body, death can occur within minutes.
Signs of cardiac arrest are sudden and unmistakable. They include:
•Failure to respond to stimuli, such as shaking of shoulders or calling of name
•No normal breathing for at least five seconds.

  4. raymd - Heart attack: artery supplying heart muscles is suddenly blocked and the muscles start to die causing severe chest pain, the heart can't pump well and may even completely stop.

Cardiac arrest: The electrical activity of the heart is disrupted and the heart goes into uncoordinated contractions which can't pump out blood, so...... meaningful heart beat stops, blood is not going to the brain and other tissues, the person collapses and may easily be considered dead by laypeople. Rescuscitation within 5 mins can however still save the victim. It may occur secondary to a heart attack.

Stroke: Blood supply to part of the brain is compromised e.g. by a clot in an artery, the person may or may not lose consciousness, there is loss of function or reduced function in the part of the body controlled by that part of the brain.

In summary, the first 2 affect the heart while the third affects the brain. All can quickly lead to death.
