As part of my fitness routine, I have run on the eliptical for 25 minutes every other day for 6 months now.
It's grueling, and is becoming more distressing, not to mention BORING!
I got my mom into a fitness routine, but she uses the treadmill on high at an incline, yet she burns the same amount of calories as I do going hard on that bloody eliptical!!
If I switched to the treadmil in the next 6 months, do you think it'd make any difference, or should I just stay on the eliptical?
I do lift weights, but I'm only concerned about the running part of my routine- it's just as important as my strength training.

tennislover - do it for 30-45 mins 3-5 days per week...
ReplyDeleteu need that time range to burn fat.. first 15-20 mins u only burn carbs
better yet.. do a full body workout with weights...
40-60 mins.. this will burn the carbs from you..
then when u do the cardio... u will burn fat right away... it only will take 20- 25 mins
its not the eliptical or the treadill.. its your method...
Luci - Good for you for keeping it up so long if you're bored!!! haha. I think it is a good idea to switch up your workout routine every now and then. It keeps it interesting and makes it easier to make yourself do it. If you are on the treadmill, you can vary the incline and speed. The up and down of your heart rate will burn even more calories. However if you are concerned at all about the impact of the treadmill on your joints, the elliptical is the easiest on your body.
