My Uncle, 72, Type 2 Since His Mid 20's, Just Told Me That He Has Never Done Anything?

396545384 special to treat his diabetes. He said he eats what he wants, not a lot of sugar, but tons of carbs. He is a picture of good health. I told him that he has been very lucky. Any thoughts about showing him a better lifestyle, or just leave him on his merry way?

  1. Neil - He can't have had full blown Type 2 Diabetes for 50 years without insulin, that's simply impossible. He might have been close to Type 2(because they diagnose that pretty quickly), which would fit his life-style.

And he's 72, he's been handling himself good enough to make it this far, so I'd say, the dude knows what's up, let him do what he thinks is right.

  2. Sam - He is full of shit. He could not just go about his business. Because if he didn't eat his sugar would go so low he would go into a coma. High sugar will do the same thing. He might want you to believe this nonsense, but he's a fucked up cocksucker.

  3. liz - My husband is type 2, this can be controlled by diet. Metformin is given as medication but some people can eat right and wont need to take this. Your uncle seems to have done pretty well so far so I would leave him, he knows what he is doing, I might add that a friend of mine was diagnosed as diabetic and rather than take life long medication she decided to control eat by eating properly. It worked.
