I'm 19 Years Old And I Think I'm Diabetic?

396545384 It just hit me right now. After drinking some alcohol last night I'm shaking in the morning. My vision is blurred and my blind spots are noticeable. My vision has been deteriorating recently but I've been ignoring it. I constantly use the restroom. My kidneys get a very sharp pain at times. My toes and feet are numb and I don't have good blood flow throughout my body. I'm really pale and look unhealthy.

Should I go to a doctor. I mean.. with all these conditions I know that the obvious answer is yes but I just feel like I should stay away from a doctor. I want to live naturally. Explain to me WHY I should see a doctor.

Weight gain could be a huge factor in actually pushing into full diabetes. I have been studying the effects of an herb called Ganoderma Lucidum. Google it and you might find it intriguing and a preemptive strike to possible diabetes. If you would like to see some products that offer the herb go to dsmcintyre.organogold.com

If you have type 1, you will have Extreme fatigue, Frequent need to urinate,Continual thirst despite taking fluids, Severe hunger urges, and Unexplained weight loss. With type 2, you will be very thirsty as well as have frequent urination, blurry vision, irritability,
tingling or numbness in the hands or feet, frequent skin bladder or gum infections wounds that don't heal, and extreme unexplained fatigue. If you are overweight, you probably have type 2. That doesn't mean that you shouldn't go to the doctor to be sure. You can have diabetes and still live naturally, even if you will need to take insulin. My good cousin has had diabetes since she was 5 and is still ok today. Go to the doctor, and don't be afraid of what you may or may not have!

  5. BillyTheKid - WHY should you see a doctor? Because they will be able to tell you if you are or are not diabetic. If you are, and do not correct it, you will eventually suffer from a great many things that a young person does not want (or anyone) such as loss of a lower limb, kidney failure, blindness.

It is possible to control Type 2 diabetes without meds thru diet and exercise. If you are only 19, it may be Type 1 which requires insulin--however, this is much better than losing your life in the next few years. Insulin is a natural hormone produced by your body--but if you are not making enough on your own, you will need to take it or face possible death at a young age.

If you are hungry more than normal, very thirsty, and urinate excessively, these are the cardinal signs of diabetes. The tests and treatments are relatively simple and will save your life.

  6. Nana Lamb - You can live naturally and also die naturally really much sooner than if you go see the doctor!

Diabetes has been known to the medical community since the beginning of medical knowledge!! You can live like they did and die before you are 30 or you can go see the doctor and live to be 90! Your choice here.

Most of us live very naturally, good healthy fruits and vegetables and some meats! Along with lots of fresh air exercise and that unnatural thing Modern MEDICATIONS. But WE want to live happily and healthily rather than just exist!

  7. Stewy - Yeh get to the docs for an MOT. You sound like a worrier which could also be contributing to your symptoms. You may be anemic and have poor circulation. There are a host of possibilities. Diabetes is to do with blood sugar levels and insulin released by your pancreas. You can monitor your own blood sugars by buying a BM machine which you can check your levels on. Also if you can get hold of some strips for testing your keytones that is an indicator also. However all my advice here is only based on experience and is not supported by any medical training. Go see a gp, it;'s free!

  8. Noccie - Nothing in your post suggests diabetes. Not even a little tiny bit.
You need to see a doctor about your vision.

  9. Ann - Well, overindulging in alcohol can throw off your natural balance of blood sugar to begin with. Are you a regular drinker? It is very damaging to the body, especially when done in "binge form" and can cause hypoglycemia during the "hangover" phase. Your body will self correct if you are not diabetic, drinking water and eating a small 15g carb snack will help.

With that being said, yes you do need a check up. If it turns out to be diabetes you will need to start treatment right away. Most pharmacies hold "diabetes screening days" for free or very low cost so it doesn't hurt to start there. They are only going to check your current blood sugar or your A1C (average blood sugar level for 3 months) but at least you will know if it is something you need to be on the lookout for or if it is something you need to handle right away.
