Spreedog - Denise is correct as usual. A CT scan is "computerized tomography." It is an x-ray slice of the abdomen usually at ~1 cm intervals. The CT x-ray scan looks at every organ in the abdomen and pelvis - or the thorax if you do the CT cuts there - a chest CT. When you look at the films you have to imagine the body cut in half at each level scanned. Imagine you are at the feet of a person cut in half. That's what you see with CT scans.
