Heart Disease Or Just Anxiety?

396545385 Okay for most of my life I have had anxiety (I'm 18 and it started when I was around 6 or 7). Anyway I would like to know if these symptoms are attributed to a heart problem or just anxiety. I have had shortness of breath, and sometimes pain on the left side of my chest, but on the far left side, not the center left portion. I have also had some indegestion. Now I know I'm only 18 but I have had the worst eating habits for the past few years. I work at a fast food place and I eat there quite often along with eating terribly at home. Although I asked some other people they told me that it usually catches up to you later in life, even if you eat really bad now. I have had anxiety for awhile, but I'm concerned that this is contributing to heart problems. So is this a really serous condition, or is this my anxiety? Please help me.

  1. Kate - I don't know if you have every had a thorough check up at the doctors but now may be a good time to start to rule out anything serious or unwanted. Though health can usually be improved by leaps and bounds with a healthy diet.

Your eating habits may likely be effective your nervous system. When your body doesn't get the right fuel you can develop all kinds of ill feelings or side effects.

There are two things vital for the human body to run at its best. Plant foods, which include fruit, vegetables, nuts, seeds and beans.

The nervous system is responsible for sending and receiving impulses throughout the body which help coordinate things such as muscle activity (your heart is a muscle), speech, your senses, learning capabilities and emotions. When things are off you can experience pain and shortness of breath.

If your schedule doesn't allow time for much change try eating more fruit. It is a perfect water rich snack that requires no preparation. Grab an apple, pear, banana, orange or whatever fruit you like and eat before you get to work so you don't want to eat as much fast food later. Bring extra and enjoy as a snack at work.

If you really want a positive change try doing a raw food fast to help detox your body, most people get absolutely amazing results and feel totally re-energized. The fast is in the link below if you want to give it a try.

I hope most of all you make time for a doctors appointment, it is better to be safe than sorry and I hope you will try to eat some more fruits and veggies if possible, I honestly think it will make a big difference.

    Good Luck and feel better.

  2. cybe22 - I think these are all symptoms of anxiety syndrome, or medical term irritable bowel syndrome. you may have either constipation or diarrhea associated with that and a feeling of not emptying the bowel, each time you go to toilet. Know more about this
