    Recipe

Serve these pancakes with butter and syrup.
    INGREDIENTS:
2 cups all-purpose flour, stirred or sifted before measuring
    2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    1 1/2 cups milk
    2 tablespoons melted butter
    PREPARATION:
Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. In a separate bowl, combine egg and milk; add to flour mixture, stirring only until smooth. Blend in melted butter. Cook on a hot, greased griddle, using about 1/4 cup of batter for each pancake. Cook until brown on one side and around edge; turn and brown the other side. Recipe for pancakes serves 4.

  4. Defunkt - You seem to be on the right track to reach your intended goal. However, it might be worth sticking to a a more regimented diet plan in order to guarantee this.

  5. Svetlana - You would, definitely, as long as you don't 'binge' or anything. But really, 121 is a good weight for your height. you should eat lots of fruits and veggies and other healthy foods, frequently, to keep your metabolism up and exercise regularly and don't eat more than a serving size each time you eat. eating six small meals per day is the healthiest way to go, because it keeps your metabolism up and gives you energy to exercise. :-) also, eating the skin on fruits (ex. eating the skin on an apple instead of peeling it off) boosts your metabolism and burns calories because fruit skin is harder for your stomach to break down. same with caffeine, tea, and spinach. but anyway, I recommend that you eat at least 1,000 calories per day, as the average person is supposed to eat about 2,200. good luck! xo

    edit ~
also, if you lose the weight quickly and 'unhealthily', you're most likely going to put it right back on once you begin to eat normally again x

  6. Dave - It is certainly possible but to do it the right way, will take effort. Weight training can make you GAIN weight by adding muscle. Yoga is not usually designed for weight loss and 10 minutes of running- without a warm up and cool down is counter productive. 300 calories is not much.

    MOVE MORE- EAT LESS.

To lose one lb. you would have to walk for 7 hours (to burn 3, 500 calories). To lose 8 lbs., do the math- 56 hours of walking. Your 15 minutes of jumping rope will do little else than damage your knees.

Eat correctly and less. Move a lot more. You should work up to about an hour+ of hard exercise a day with a 2-3 hour hike on the weekends and one or two days off. Lifting weights correctly will also help (light weights with higher reps for weight loss- heavier weights, few reps for weight gain). If possible, I highly recommend you get a trainer.

Aside from eating less calories, what you eat matters. Eat protein at every meal (makes you feel fuller) and consumer smaller but more frequent meals daily. Drink at least 8 glasses of water daily.

Work out by walking first think in the AM before eating to jump start your metabolism- a fast walk will do it, then as you get better, incorporate interval training e.g., carry small hand weights and do various exercises while walking fast then every 10 minutes, sprint as fast as you can for 30 seconds- repeat every 10 minutes, drop down and do push-ups- start with as many as are comfortable and work up to 25. Although you don't want to build too much muscle, a little will burns fat- even while you are sleeping.

I am assuming you want to look tone and have plenty of energy on your vacation- this will do it. This type of routing will also tremendously benefit your overall health- blood pressure, cholesterol, fats, etc. Otherwise, simply starving yourself, eating poorly, etc. will leave you looking unfit, flabby and tired.
