  2. Sarah N - good, get it looked at, probably a cyst. Tumors don't grow that fast

  3. lo_mcg - At 17, the chances of breast cancer are one in 1.3 million, or less than 0.0001%. That's less than half your chances of being struck by lightning.

Most breast lumps, even in women old enough for breast cancer, aren't cancer.

Pain is very rarely a sign of breast cancer; most people diagnosed with it have felt no pain at all.

I was classed as a 'younger woman' when I was diagnosed with breast cancer, and was allocated to the breast care nurse whose special interest was 'breast cancer in younger women' - because I was only 50, which is quite young for breast cancer

  4. Bobby's Girl - It sounds like a cyst.
There is no pain in early stages of breast cancer.
Cysts will enlarge before & during period time then,
subside til next period starts. This is when they become painful.
At 17 your chance of breast cancer is close to zero.

  5. Tarkarri - Painful and growing rapidly usually means a cyst.

See your Dr and get it checked.
