  2. gangadharan nair - You have got stage 2 hypertension (moderate) and isolated systolic hypertension. Isolated systolic hypertension, however, is defined as a systolic pressure that is above 140 mm Hg with a diastolic pressure that still is below 90.
Your pulse pressure is 166--84 = 82 mmHg. Optimum pulse pressure is 40 mmHg.
A high pulse pressure may be a strong predictor of heart problems, especially for older adults. Generally, a pulse pressure greater than 40 mm Hg is abnormal.
Adopt DASH diet (Mediterranean diet). Eat a low-cholesterol, low-fat diet, which includes cottage cheese, fat-free milk, fish, vegetables, poultry, and egg whites. Use monounsaturated oils such as olive, peanut, and canola oils or polyunsaturated oils such as corn, safflower, soy, sunflower, cottonseed, and soybean oils. Avoid foods with excess fat in them such as meat (especially liver and fatty meat), egg yolks, whole milk, cream, butter, shortening, pastries, cakes, cookies, gravy, peanut butter, chocolate, olives, potato chips, coconut, cheese (other than cottage cheese), coconut oil, palm oil, and fried foods.
    Consult your doctor.

  3. hinhthoi - Normally the blood pressure should be 120/80

You can have a good health if you have a proper diet and physical exercise. If you have the high blood pressure disease, perhaps you should see doctors to have the medical checkup

  4. kk - Your blood pressure fluctuates on a regular basis, the best time that I find too be the best time too take your blood pressure is in the morning when you get up. Reason being is that your relaxed and you haven't quite done anything to raise your blood pressure. Also, you want too take it once a day over the period of 3 or 4 days in one week and average it out to the best reading.
