Dan - Feeling good with sugar is a sign of addiction, not necessarily diabetes. Yes your Dr can do blood work OR there is a simple over the counter blood test , prick your finger is easy, called A1c for $10
syl c. - Your sugar levels may be unbalanced. Panic attacks and anxiety is very common especially when blood sugar levels are low since it’s the adrenaline and cortisol that raise levels to safe levels.
Most of the panic attacks and anxious feelings experienced were due to hypoglycemic (low blood sugar) episodes. Buy a glucose meter to check your levels first thing in the morning, before and after a meal, in-between meals, and before bed. This way you can see if your blood sugar levels are abnormal (under 70 mg/dl low, over 140 mg/dl 2 hours after eating high). This way you can see what foods are affecting your blood sugar levels and avoid these foods. Change your diet to a low carb, more protein diet, drink water or sugar free herbal tea, do not skip meals, keep a food diary you can note sugar levels to share with your doctor.
Check with your doctor and obtain a simple blood glucose test and oral glucose testing whereby you are given a sugary drink and the doctor observes and tests you 1 hour and 2 hours after you drink and see hows your body reacts to the sugar in your system.
Dan H - Go to your doctor. Diabetes can be diagnosed with a simple blood test.
