Tongue Piercings Problems?

396545381 I just want to specifically know if anyone (with experience) knows the truth with getting a tongue piercing and gum recession. If I get a plastic piercing is there the same risk as the metal one?

  1. ? - i think it's all lieeeeees! I've had mine pierced for about 4 months now.. And nothing has happened to my gums, (stainless steel). The only annoying thing was when i first got it, it would click against my teeth when i talked, i would bite down on it when i ate, and the ball came un-screwed. :o but now i'm used to it c:

  2. DawnHolliday - Personally, I haven't had a problem. I'm not going to say it is a lie but I haven't had a problem with the metal balls. I though do prefer the plastic ones because I chew on the piercing all the time. I know it is not good to but it's became a habit. Lol. I've never had a problem though with the balls coming unscrewed, swallowing part of it or the whole thing(I had a friend that swallowed the entire barbell), or any of that. Plastic ones though are supposed to help for if you were to bite down on the metal ball it can chip your tooth/teeth and same goes for if you are one that plays with it and rubs it across your teeth.
