  1. Mh - what the hell? stop going gym half way makes you fat? lol. you only get fat when you eat more than needed for your body lol. and the weight at your height your more of underweight. that being said, you can go to the gym and the routine you got seems pretty standard.

i don't see why not you cant go to the gym and best of luck.

  3. Yailynn - Of course it is! Don't listen to those people, that doesn't even make sense and I looked it up and there is no scientific evidence that that is possible.....
Also, you don't have to go to the gym for life (unless you buy a expensive membership....). You won't become fat, and you should always take a jog or go for a run as often as you can.
And yes, it is ok to do diffrent excerisises as long as you often come back to it.

  4. Alex - Going to the gym is good for you, as long as you do it right so you don't hurt yourself by trying to lift too much weight or using the machines wrong. It's exercise, which is good. It WILL NOT affect your height. If you become fat, its because you have bad eating habits or are not getting enough exercise (which does not just mean going to the gym, it could also be things like playing sports, or running or riding a bike, etc)
Going to the gym EVERY day might be a little excessive, but if you are only going for a short time (like an hour or so) and working out one muscle group (arms, back, chest, legs, cardio, core, etc.) at a time, I'm sure you are not over doing it.
If you are really concerned or confused, talk to one of the trainers at the gym. They are there to help you out and often a gym membership comes with a free consultation from a trainer. Check it out!

  5. Island Spirit - If you stop working out after developing muscles, you will just return to the condition you would be if you did not work out or the muscle definition will just become less visible.

It is possible to over train, but alternating workouts which allows the muscles to rest at least one day is good. Add more than one day of rest if workouts are intense and/or lengthier than usual.

People like to make up and spread lies to rationalize their laziness when they see others, like yourself doing what they wish they had the dedication to do. Keep up the good work, be careful not to overtrain, eat healthy foods, stay hydrated, get adequate sleep.

  6. ronwagn - Going to the gym is great. Maybe your friend is just lazy. You should not over do it though. Resting is essential. Take a day off when your body says to. You don't have to go to a gym though. Walking, jogging, calisthenics, etc. Can all be done at home. A pair of adjustable dumbells are helpful. Your friend is right that you will lose the gains if you quit, of course. However your body will remember where it was, and it will be easier to regain your muscles and conditioning.

  7. Singh - Its one of the most famous Myth that if u stop going to gym then u will strt putting on weight... Its all incorrect. Best way to workout is to increase your protein & carbohydrates intake. With these you will be able to build perfect muscles. Muscles built with natural protein n carbs stays for a longer time even if u stop going to gym. Workout with perfect balanced diet will keep you fit n u dnt have to wrry about fat as u have not concentrated on mass building.

Yes the workout mentioned by you is rite.. As a beginner you shld be training only one muscle per day.. Dont strain you muscle. Ensure that you give enough rest to ur body coz whn u r resting u r building muscles n not whn u r working out.

  8. letsget_dangerous - Go to Arnold Schwarzenegger's sp? page and check him out ...fat saggy

If you build huge muscles and then stop yes they turn to flabby sagging mess. If you lift weight to stay firm not build up then no issues. Other thing to keep in mind the more muscle you have the more energy your Body needs to function.
Typically people with extreme muscle bulk tend to have less stamina for steady work or exercise.
